Everywhere you look, people are talking about COP21 which is slated to be one of the planet’s biggest climate conferences. The topics and timelines in general can get confusing so we decided to break it down for you. Read on to understand COP21 in 26 letters…its almost as simple as learning your ABCs! Here's a look at letters K - O in part 3 :)

K for ‘Keep calm and make history’: Need we say more?

L for Leadership: COP21 is a chance for world leaders to become pioneers for tomorrow. We need action and they need our support - add your voice here.

M for Mechanisms: any agreement reached at COP21 must include how we monitor and evaluate progress on the climate commitments to ensure countries stay on track with their emissions reductions plans.

N for ‘NO to Coal’: The biggest climate polluter is the global power sector, which generates around 40% of all global electricity from coal. Each second, 700 tonnes of CO2 are spewed into the atmosphere from coal fired power plants! Furthermore, two thirds of all proven fossil fuel reserves must stay in the ground if the world is serious about avoiding dangerous climate change, according to the International Energy Agency’s World Energy Outlook 2012 report.
